RIP Robin Williams by dmbarnham RIP Robin Williams by dmbarnham
RIP Robin Williams, and here take this fairy into the afterlife.

I will miss you, you were an inspiration to bleeding hearts across the world. It is a very sad day indeed.

Edit: And I'm too sad to send thank you notes to people, so please accept this one in advanced.

--- Also I don't usually get this wrapped up in an actors death, Robin wasn't even in my list of top actors (though I certainly loved him still) The reason it matters is because though he wasn't in my top list he was still a top influence in my life. Nobody in my real life knows how much I suffer, I keep it all to myself, but I've battled depression pretty much my entire life too, though most days it's not the hard hitting crumbling depression that Robin obvious suffered, it is a continual emptiness that shadows me everywhere I go. I have on known occasions taken to the serious shorter-version too and it's just terrible. When I first learnt about Robin's struggle (and that of many comedians) I came to hold a special place for him, because I know (to my own world degree) what it is like, and I reached out mentally to that. I used him as an example that we can keep going and try and make those around us happy. His death is truly devastating, but I also understand that there is only so much fight in a person and sometimes there is no way past it. I know this from more than my own experiences but also from family, from a father who is depressive and a step-brother no longer with us. The only thing one can do is keep fighting, and never forget such a great man.

As you said, there is only so much a man can take. Everyone says he died too soon, but I like to think, maybe, just maybe, he's giving god a wonderful time at the great comedy central in the sky.

beautiful drawing and lovely sentiments... thank you for your honesty in sharing you connection. I also was hit hard by his death even before I knew it was suicide. I suffer from depression too and though have, with the help a long and intense therapy have managed to move into a happy time of my life the shadow of it remains always. His death confirms that I will always have to be aware of it and allow for it in the bway I plan my life and live it.

His death goes to show, you can be the sweetest, funniest, most wonderful man on earth, but horrible things can still happen to you. And next time you get into a slump, and seriously need help, ASK!!!!! Rehab may not have done it for Robin, but I would much hear about the death of a great older man that died having an incredible life, than hear about the death of a young Picasso, or a Michaelangelo, that never reached out and got the help he needed.

I'm only 7 years younger than Robin... His death reminds me how much I have to do and live for...

And you must never forget that. Even the littlest things can have a big impact. He would want us to learn from his mistakes, and... move on....

Thank you. I don't normally get this all hooked up with a celebrity dies, but I have a lot of respect for Robin. The level of suffering he has endured over his life, he was an inspiration for this great character despite everything. It has hit pretty hard.

... and for some reason DeviantART has restricted my piece. It is not showing up anywhere and I've attempted to place it into several groups, none of which has registered it. I don't know what's happened. :(
